Beyond Paradise picks up Humphrey and Martha’s story as they navigate a new life together in the idyll of rural Britain.
Seeking a quieter life away from the stress of the city, Humphrey has taken a job as Detective Inspector in fiancée Martha’s hometown. However, they soon find that country life is anything but peaceful and Humphrey can’t help but be distracted by the town’s surprisingly high crime rate with a new, and very different, case challenging him each week.
Season 1, Episode 01 –
After leaving the Met for the sleepy Devon town of Shipton Abbott, DI Humphrey Goodman quickly makes an impression on the local police force – DS Esther Williams, PC Kelby Hartford and Office Support Margot Martins – as he investigates a reported assault with a very unusual prime suspect: a seventeenth-century witch.
Humphrey’s got his work cut out at home too as he tries to impress Martha’s mother Anne, whilst Martha looks for premises for her café business.
